Sight is our primary sense. Children are keen observers eager to understand their environment. Visual perception gives meaning to what they see, a prerequisite for learning to read. Visual discrimination allows children to recognize and classify by attributes – color, shape, and size. Eye-hand coordination leads to success in executing fine motor tasks.
