Product Description

Rocky Color Cone is a classic early childhood wooden toy. Thoughtfully designed. As well as meticulously manufactured. Consequently it has become a treasured toy passed down from one generation to the next. Among its exemplary features is a uniform dowel. That’s because such uniformity allows a child to stack rings of different diameters in any order.¬† Why is that important? Because it’s developmentally appropriate. When a child is learning to stack, that is all he focuses on. He stacks, up-ends, and stacks again. All the while developing¬† eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills. He hasn’t yet developed the ability to discern differences in the diameter of the post and choose rings accordingly. Such “size discrimination” comes later. Only then will the child be able to stack rings from largest to smallest.

One ring falling in place atop another produces a “klacking” sound that “signals success.” The rounded wood base is a trademark design. Children delight in giving the cone a push and watching the cone rock, spin and topple over, spilling the rings.¬† Measures 5 1/2″H on a 4″ diameter base.
